This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. By continually focusing on improving our processes to the benefit of the customer we have during more than five decades gained second to none experience in catering to and manufacturing for demanding medical garment brands. The really unique features of our garments

four way stretch; 4-way stretch; medical

4-way
stretch

The textile will adapt to the body shape at all times ensuring that the product will provide the necessary compression needed for recovery, as well as the best possible comfort at all times during prolonged wear.

Targeted compression
and support

Targeted compression and support means that our partners' products are designed to provide the necessary compression and support exactly where needed. By controlling compression on the scar tissue, the healing process advances faster and patient comfort is heightened. The compression zones are specially designed into each product based on indication.

Seamless
knitting

For optimum healing, the surgery site needs rest. That is why products from Tytex and our partners are designed to guarantee no seams in the wound or scar area and at any other critical sites of the applied area. This provides maximum skin friendliness and prevents pressure marks, as well as irritation of skin and tissue.

Fact-based
sizing

When it comes to medical textiles and post-op garments, no size fits all. That is why we base all sizes on three parametres; statistical body knowledge, comfort stretch measurements and extensive knowledge and experience with the combination of knitting methods in different materials. The combination of these 3 parameters ensures perfect fit at all times.

Scalable production processes ensuring maximum flexibility

Meeting the demands of an ever more competitive marketplace with growing regulation, increased pressure on supply chains and logistic is not easy. Our partners need overall flexibility, security in supply as well as a partner who guarantees high quality and consistency at good price points.

In order for us to deliver to the high standards of our partners we have created a scalable production concept that makes it possibilities for our partners to have rapid production start-up even for volume products.

But the concept of scalability goes beyond this. Scalability is a characterised by the capability to cope and perform well under increased and expanding workloads and scope. Our agile production and manufacturing processes make us able to adjust volumes and designs with very short lag times without compromising performance or efficiency.

Redundancies and thorough planning increasing flexibility and reducing lead time

Redundancy is built in to our processes and even with relatively low MOQ's demands we are able to manufacture at competitive prices. Our sales teams and the product development teams as well as our procurement department also work closely together. This tightly coordinated collaboration ensures close to no downtime as well as the ability for our partners to place orders with very short deadlines.

Intricate systems built over the course of more than 50 years

Our more than 50 years' of experience within garment and textile manufacturing also has helped us in developing an intricate and accurate forecasting system which also makes it possible for us to plan for almost any contingency. And our elaborate inventory handling system also aids in providing optimal flexibility, short lead times and rapid production start up. Min-max levels on repeat orders are closely monitored and provide an early warning system further increasing planning optimisation and reducing lead times.

Main technologies and parameters applied

When we customise and craft medical garments and textiles for our partners we broadly make use of six main variables.
Just click on the area you are interested in learning more about.

Large scale manufacturing capabilities at our production facilities

For being able to make medical garments and textiles the right way we need an intricate production and manufacturing set up. At our two production facilities in Slovakia covering 14,000 m2 we have the ability to manufacture garments and textiles large scale. We use a number of technologies and have capabilities to both manufacture garments using specific technologies for a given product or by combination of technologies and methods.

Technologies applied

The weft circular knitting technology is used for manufacturing seamless body fitted garments. The warp mesh knitting technology is used for the production of medical mesh knitted textiles. When manufacturing garments with special requirements – in relation to stretch capabilities, special washing requirements or when needing special transitions – we manufacture the garment by combine a knitting technology with cut and sew.

Additional variables applied when customising garments and textiles

Another approach can be applied if a garment needs to have unique properties in relation to absorption. If the need is not met by use of raw materials or special blends of raw materials special treatments can become relevant in ensuring that the end product will properly address the clinical indication it is intended for. Also, highly important, when manufacturing high performance garments for the medical sector, is the ability to address functionality and aesthetics by incorporating accessories such as laces, zippers, hook & eyes as well as special features like openings in a bra for a breastfeeding bottle. Our skilled workers are able to meet all of these special requirements at our manufacturing facilities in Slovakia.

FLEXIBILITY IN R&D

Moreover, at our HQ in Denmark our Research and Development team has production machinery at their disposal for testing. This ensures that the development of our customers' garments and textiles are always developed in the best possible way and that the transfer from development to production is as smooth and fast as possible. This process also secures that documentation, time studies, drawings and materials are all optimised and ready before the prototype is passed on to production. Moreover, our engineers work closely with our production managers in order to ensure efficient production start up of new customised products.

MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES FOR BOTH LARGE SCALE AND SMALL PRODUCTION RUNS

The automated and lean manufacturing capabilities applied at Tytex's manufacturing facilities are at the core of the Tytex offering. By leveraging our knowledge and manufacturing capabilities we are able to offer our customers manufacturing in bulk as well as small quantities and thereby we are able to cater to both large brands and well as small start ups.

Technology is key when designing for patient well-being and healing

There are myriads of textile solutions in the marketplace. You can choose to have your garments woven, knitted or made by neoprene just to name a few of the options available.

All technologies have various advantages and disadvantages. Some solutions have superior moisture absorption properties. Some have better qualities in regards to providing body-fit. Other technologies offer antibacterial traits and some are easier and cheaper to manufacture. All of the above-mentioned solutions can be beneficial in providing post-op compression and support but you need to consider the various pros and cons when you start designing your post-op garment line.

At Tytex we always employ the optimal technology for our customers' specific challenges. We have a wide variety of technologies and solutions to choose from, when we manufacture garments for our customers.

The comfort of the patient at the core of
your promise

When making garments for the healthcare industry it is of the utmost importance to develop a solution based on the comfort of the user. In our experience it is crucial that medical garments applied to the body exert the least amount of additional stress to both the patient as well as the operated area.

Moreover, the garment needs to reduce the risk of infection as well as provide the necessary compression and correction to the critical area. The garment also needs to be free of any harmful substances which can impact the overall health of the patient. Lastly, having a comfortable fit will not only impact the well-being of the patient it can also aid in the recovery of the patient.

Due to the breadth and depth of our competences we always have a solution for any customer specific challenge. The process always begins with determining the purpose of the design and then based on a multitude of parameters we chose which properties – e.g. compression, support, fixation or absorption – to integrate in the specific solution.
