Global leader within medical garments and textiles

Tytex is a Danish company, headquartered in the town of Ikast in Central Jutland. For half a century, we have  specialised in developing, manufacturing and selling textile solutions for special medical needs ranging from post-op care to compression garments and incontinence solutions.

We are a world leader in the design, development and production of textile-based solutions for fixation, support and compression by way of medical garments and textiles. We provide advanced textile solutions for a range of areas in the global healthcare sector - be it products for postoperative care or products to help stabilize a condition and prevent additional complications.

Expertise in weft and warp knitted medical textiles

Our technology platform is centered around weft (circular) and warp (mesh) knitting technologies.

Your benefits? Seamless, body-fitted medical fixation and compression healthcare textiles.

WEFT CIRCULAR KNITTING

Seamless body-fitted garments with targeted and controlled support and compression. Circular knitting allows for 100%  seamless knitting in critical areas of the body, e.g. after surgery, which means faster healing, less scarring and higher patient comfort.

WARP MESH KNITTING

Medical mesh knitted garments with targeted and controlled fixation of body-worn devices.

Medical textiles and garments with benefits around the body

Strong know-how and technology in the weft (circular knitting) and warp (mesh knitting) techniques, combined with many years of hands-on experience, make us capable of delivering medical textiles and garment solutions that will provide "benefits around the body".

That means that all the medical textiles and garments produced with the weft (circular knitting) and warp (mesh knitting) techniques benefit the specific medical condition it is intended for.

Evolution as a red thread

Much has happened since Tytex started out in the middle of Jutland in 1971. But still the keyword in the history of Tytex is evolution. Not only in terms of production methods and products, but also when it comes to the company itself which has lived through a continuous progress through the last many years.

Tytex was founded in 1971 by the Thygesen family who wanted to make a company that was always at the forefront of development. The key to this was a new and revolutionary production method which allowed the product to be knitted completely in one manufacturing process.

In 1973 a successful cooperation started with a market leading pad manufacturer to develop and produce fixation pants for babies and incontinent adults. Taking over the patent rights from an American company in 1979 was a further milestone in development of incontinence briefs.

Tytex has expanded many times in its evolution; the first overseas production plant was set up in Ireland in 1984; then Tytex Inc. was added in the USA in 1989; Tytex Slovakia in 2001; and Tytex Thailand in 2008. An essential part of the company's success has been its ability to keep production costs to a minimum, and today Tytex's production is consolidated and concentrated in high-efficient facilities in Slovakia.

Sales offices were added in Germany in 1993 (Tytex GmbH) and in UK in 2012. Today Tytex has sales divisions located in Germany and USA in addition to the Sales Headquarter in Denmark.

Tytex today

Tytex is a modern and healthy company which has produced continued good results and progress, in spite of the various global financial crises. The company has been able to adjust to evolving market trends due to its ability to continually change and adapt to new challenges. As a result, Tytex is considered a reliable partner by its customers who are typically the largest companies in their sphere.

The really unique features of our garments

four way stretch; 4-way stretch; medical

4-way
stretch

The textile will adapt to the body shape at all times ensuring that the product will provide the necessary compression needed for recovery, as well as the best possible comfort at all times during prolonged wear.

Targeted compression
and support

Targeted compression and support means that our partners' products are designed to provide the necessary compression and support exactly where needed. By controlling compression on the scar tissue, the healing process advances faster and patient comfort is heightened. The compression zones are specially designed into each product based on indication.

Seamless
knitting

For optimum healing, the surgery site needs rest. That is why products from Tytex and our partners are designed to guarantee no seams in the wound or scar area and at any other critical sites of the applied area. This provides maximum skin friendliness and prevents pressure marks, as well as irritation of skin and tissue.

Fact-based
sizing

When it comes to medical textiles and post-op garments, no size fits all. That is why we base all sizes on three parametres; statistical body knowledge, comfort stretch measurements and extensive knowledge and experience with the combination of knitting methods in different materials. The combination of these 3 parameters ensures perfect fit at all times.
